Besides the experience in working on assignments for the major EU institutions, one of the core competences in the Brussels office is supporting local authorities in managing EU structural funds. Within this field, we especially have extensive experience in supporting local authorities in their application to the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) co-financing major projects in public transport, under the specific procedure for the so-called “major projects”.
Below are some examples of the major project that our Brussels team has most recently been working on. The projects generally concerned compilation of EU cost benefit analyses and applications to the European Regional Development Fund in France, including such tasks as: Financial analysis, cost-benefit analysis, risk analysis, and composing the application form to the European Commission. The projects pertain to the specific procedure for the so-called “major projects” eligible to the European Regional Development Fund with total costs exceeding EUR 50 million (Regulation (EC) No 1083/2006).

Project description:Compilation of EU cost-benefit analysis and application for ERDF funding – Priority Axis: Innovation – for the local education office of French Guiana regarding the Prefecture of French Guiana’s project of a University Campus, which will welcome 3000 students in 2013.

Ramboll Management Consulting realizes the financial, economic, multi-criteria and risk analyses and leads negotiations with the European Commission.

Technical assistance for an application for ERDF co-financing of a Major Project in public transport (Tramway Valenciennes)

Client: SITURV, Valenciennes, France
Project description: Within the context of the Transvilles programme implemented by SITURV (an ongoing project), we realized the second step of the construction of the Valenciennes’ tramway. Regarding the requirements for Major Projects of infrastructure (MP) under the European Regional Development Fund (period 2007-2013), Ramboll Management Consulting realized the socio-economic, financial, sensitivity and risk analyses. The company made those analyses for the second phase of the IMP from the analysis realized in the IMP first phase, which included revising the missing links between the three analyses. Ramboll Management Consulting is in charge of writing the application form to the European Commission (from the document elaborated by SITURV and the SGAR).
