feasibility studies

A project feasibility study is a well-tested and widely used tool that covers an entire development process and helps a client to get the necessary overview and create coherence between construction, experience and activities. This leads to an overall business plan, which describes the goals and key actions to document the viability of the project.Blackboard

Every project is different
We conduct feasibility studies in connection with the construction of new culture and experience centres, but also when existing buildings need to be rethought to fulfil new purposes and activities. Our unique company set-up means we can utilise competencies from across the Ramboll Group and enlist the help of our engineers who have many years of experience with construction, analysis, strategy and concept development, to deliver tailored solutions to each project.

How is a good idea transformed into a museum, holiday resort or culture centre?
A feasibility study is divided into six phases:

  • Vision & concept: This phase describes the ideas behind the project, making the concept specific enough to implement. The concept is what makes all the elements in any experience centre come together in a coherent experience.

  • Analysis: Our market analysis reveals the demand and supply of the market for culture and experience centres and the opportunities and challenges the project will face.

  • Economy: We draw up a construction programme which describes demands and wishes for the building, assesses the overall financial status, provides a time schedule for the project as well as a detailed operating budget.

  • Strategy: We deliver an overview of relevant sources of funding, and assess how the different funding sources could be combined and how to apply for them. Furthermore a communication strategy is developed.

  • Project: The various elements of the feasibility study are presented together in an overall business plan. The business plan describes the results of the analysis, the assessments and an action plan for the project as a whole. The plan prepares the project for the construction phase.

  • Construction: In this phase, we can take charge of the many different tasks (making use of our extensive network in the construction business) from purchasing land to geotechnical studies, construction management and training of the operating personnel.
